Ex vegan Al Sharpton's 175-lb weight reduction was because of sugar-free diet, exercise

Reverend Al Sharpton credits a low-calorie, sugar free diet and daily workouts for his stunning 175-pound weight reduction. The 5-foot-10 Sharpton slimmed down from 305 pounds to 130 pounds, thanks to dieting and exercise.

Rev. Al, who followed a mostly vegan diet for Zi Xiu Tang Reviews several years, is not vegan, but still doesn't eat red meat or chicken and prefers eggs and the occasional fish dish for protein.

While celebrities for example Kim Kardashian, Kristin Cavallari and Kendra Wilkinson have hopped on the low carb bandwagon and credit the Atkins, ketogenic and Paleo diets for his or her dramatic weight reduction, Sharpton's diet isn't reduced carb but avoids refined sugar.

Sharpton, 60, told the Daily News he hasn't eaten dinner in a long time, preferring to consume the majority of his calories early in the day. Sharpton said he slimmed down without bariatric surgery or diet pills through good old-fashioned discipline.

"I'm conditioned now so that Irrrve never get hungry," said Rev. Al. "I might take all of the cartoons within the tabloid newspapers, but I couldn't take my daughter punching me within the belly and asking why I was so fat. Which was my inspiration to get rid of the weight."

Sharpton, who calls his weight loss program "the Al Sharpton Diet," has lost 60 % of his body weight since 2008, when he began carrying out a vegan diet. He's no longer vegan, but doesn't eat much protein.

Sharpton's daily menu includes about 1,000 calories and 26 grams of protein. In the morning he's three slices of whole wheat toast, tea sweetened with stevia and a bottle of green juice. For lunch he has a salad having a hard-boiled egg, a banana and more tea. Sharpton usually skips dinner and never eats past 6 p.m.

Rev. Al also exercises daily, walking slowly on the treadmill for 25 minutes. As the workout isn't rigorous, he never skips a day. "You live seven days per week, which means you should exercise 7 days a week," he told the Wall Street Journal.

Sharpton, who was once addicted to fried chicken, said in previous interviews it had become important for him to get healthy so he or she is a positive example for his community. "You can't address our issues and demand social justices when you are a prisoner in your body," said Al, who hosts PoliticsNation on MSNBC.

At some point, Sharpton was subsisting on only one meal a day (a tiny salad for lunch), but started consuming more around the advice of his doctor. The once self-professed food addict was shocked he completely curbed his desire to overeat.

"I was absolutely content just doing the salad," he said. "As a child who grew up chubby, I simply marveled at the proven fact that I possibly could be thin."

Sharpton, who's dating Aisha McShaw, a 35-year-old personal sylist (see photo above), said his health and his life improved dramatically, because 7 Days Herbal Slim of discipline. He said he learned lessons on self-discipline from singer James Brown.

"Manhood, discipline, regimen, I learned everything from James Brown," said Sharpton. "I think a great deal about how he would react if he saw my weight now. He would probably say I've learned how you can master myself. He used to let me know, 'You can't master situations before you master yourself.'"
